Melbourne Sports Law Association (MSLA) is excited to present this lunchtime event focussed on drug testing and athletes’ rights in a sporting context. With increasingly complex regulations and processes around drug testing, athletes are having to interact with the law in order to do their jobs. This event will explore the ways in which athletes interact with the law, particularly in an anti-doping context, including the testing and appeals process. It will also highlight the human rights issues that arise in a sporting context for athletes and how they are currently being addressed.
Ling Goh, lawyer, MLS Sports Law PhD Candidate and Singaporean national track and field athlete will be our guest presenter for the event, drawing on her legal and sporting experience to illuminate the issues of this field.
Tamsyn Lewis Manou, former track and field athlete (3x Olympian, 3x Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist) and current athletics Commentator and Media Reporter, will also join the event as a guest speaker to share her first-hand experiences as an athlete interacting with drug testing and other human rights issues.
Join us on Wednesday April 26 at 1pm in Room. Lunch and drinks will be provided!
